What is HMPV?
- Viral infection resembling the common cold.
- Causes upper respiratory infections; can lead to:
- Pneumonia
- Asthma flare-ups
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) aggravation.
- Most prevalent in winter and early spring.
- Commonly affects children under five; reinfections are milder.
